RESEARCH: OUTCOMES, VIEWPOINTS & PERSPECTIVES
Bio-conservation
I
have participated in research projects and reports for
conservation policies concerning endangered plant populations
of species such as Tetraclinis articulata and
Juniperus thurifera, among others.
The situation with entomophilous-dominated, xerothermic
scrub of southeastern Spain, has also been monitorized
over the last decades. This is a relict territory for
a number of Ibero-Maghrebian taxa such as Periploca
angustifolia, Maytenus europaeus, Withania frutescens,
etc.
The region is extremely suitable to virulent, recurrent
fires. Following post-fire natural dynamics of vegetation
has been one of our common activities for the last twenty
years.
